Hello π I have decided to make a feature on this account in which I will recommend around 10 artists per month which I am currently listening to in order to share some tastes and broaden both your styles as readers and also the audiences of the artists. So without further ado: let’s begin with my January recommendations.
1) Bronnie (@bronniemusic)
Bronnie Hughes is a Pop Punk Singer from Liverpool and Wales. Known for her eccentric hair colours and High energy stage presence Bronnie is a great artist for those who love a good mosh song or maybe a song for the feels- there’s no telling what the Punk Prodigy will do next! Assisted by Drummer Chris Mitchell and Guitarist/producer Peter Gebbie you’re always in for something extraordinary and unique! Like a podcast for example (Mom it’s my life!) Check out their new EP on Spotify or See them live this year in the UK, tickets available at Bronniemusic.com
2) My Chemical Romance (@mychemicalromance)
That’s right Kids: don your darkest clothes, straighten that fringe and put on more eyeliner than 2000s Pete Wentz as you’re about to be taken back to 2006! That’s right MCR is back in business and just as almighty. After announcing their return on Halloween night. The band also put forth a reunion gig in LA with tickets selling out instantly and people travelling from all over for what can only be described as the emo pilgrimage. Since then, fans have been going crazy with theories given by cryptic social media posts and clips…. only more can come from this and I’m excited to see what.
3) Danny Wright (@DannyWrightUK)
Another UK punk artist making the list π Danny is a pop punk artist who is doing great in the music industry lately as he started of 2020 by releasing the “Breathe EP” and Supporting Bronnie at a gig in Amsterdam! Danny has many different songs which reflect different emotions and speeds– making his music great for a variety of different audiences. If you like the sound of his work, you can catch Danny on a joint tour with a variation of different artists in February: Alstar Live! February
4) Jessie Paege (@jessiepaege)
Jessie Paege is most commonly known for her YouTube channel in which she posts a variety of different videos. Lately, She has also been seen posting music alongside her typical videos and I must say, she is absolutely killing it! With her first song “not a phase” being released in October, the blue haired beauty has done nothing but flourished and excelled within the community and now three songs into her discography I am exhilarated to see what comes next π She is even Supporting Palaye Royale on their one off LA show in a few months. Go Jessie!
5) Offshore (@OffshorebandHQ)
Offshore are a Uk band based in and around the Manchester area. The four members: Oscar Churchy, Jasper Whitehead, Harvey Rafferty and Callum Richards are so dedicated and talented within their work and have such a close and admirable relationship with fans π€- how cute! Currently just finishing a tour and with the release of their next EP being very soon- it is as though these boys never stop and their hard work is paying off well and it just shows how proud both band and fans are cause of it at shows and live-streams likewise. Bravo boys x
6) Why Don’t We (@WhyDontWeMusic)
Jonah Marais, Zach Herron, Daniel Seavey, Corbyn Besson and Jack Avery make up the band Why Don’t We and what a year 2019 was for this five piece “man-band” with both a world tour for their previous debut album “8 Letters” and providing a new song every month for their fans “the limelights” it is no wonder that this band are as big and successful as they are. The band’s most recent song “Chills” stormed its way through the apple charts and even got radio play in many countries including BBC Radio 1 π€©. Just the other day, the fabulous five posted a video of them in which the caption states how they are taking a break for the start of the year before working on their next big album. Great work Guys and all the best for the new album.
7) The Verse (@TheVerseBand)
The Four piece band from Birmingham consists of: Jack Harrison (frontman/guitarist), Tappers/JT (Drummer), Tom Deykin (Bassist) and Alex Cottom (Guitarist). These Cheeky lads currently have four songs available on Spotify and ITunes with music videos Coming Soon. You don’t even need to see these guys live (even though I recommend you do- they’re ace) to know how much they love what they do. With shows across the UK both headliners and supporting and special accoustic sessions in HMV Merryhill and a live session and interview on Raw Sound TV on youtube the bands dynamic attitudes and presence is well depicted both online and irl. The bands music ranges from Moshers like “Say goodbye” To melancholic marvels like “exit way out” this band are one of my favourites and I am proud to be a fan.
8) WaterParks (@Waterparks)
Geoff Wigington, Otto Wood and Awsten Knight come together to form the Texan alternative band Waterparks. Late last year the band Released “Fandom” their new Album and (dream)boy is it a good one, it has everything the band is and more slow or fast, loud or chill. The Tracks on the album are all rated Bops in my eyes and apparently the public do to. The Bands recent single “Turbulent” won the song of the year award from Music magazine RockSound and it is so well deserved. The bands videos typically follow a Unique and occasionally Dark theme but always match the lyrics well…. Parx have just finished the US leg of their tour and are moving onto the UK and EU leg within this week~ let’s hope it is a great time for Act and Fan alike π
9) Lewis Capaldi (@lewiscapaldi)
Well I mean Lewis is probably one of the most mainstream artists on this list but you can’t deny that he has done some great songs and I mean it takes a lot to stay in the official charts for so long. I feel as though all of Lewis’ songs come straight from the heart and are so meaningful and as a girl who has tried to make songs in the past it is hard to makes songs that are just wholesome and emotional, if i ever want a song to put me in my feels then quite a few times I will go for a Capaldi classic so yeah, in my eyes I think capaldi is a Great artist and deserves to be on this list π€·π»ββοΈ
10) Billie Eilish (@billieeilish)
Billie, Billie, Billie. Ah, what even is there to say for someone of her age to become such a household name overnight must be so overwhelming but the way in which she has dealt with it is absolutely amazing, the young Artist is an inspiration for young people everywhere through her personality, her lyrics, confidence and so much more. Eilish has even been announced as the official singer for the next Bond film. As a Film geek I must say, that is Freaking awesome dude! Catch Eilish on her World tour this summer (:
So yeah π I hope this is okay and maybe you find something you like, if you did leave a comment and let me know. Should I make more of these in the future? -Hannah
